Pfarre Tattendorf
The altar space is the basis for liturgic actions. The altar itself as its center lays in the direct axis between high altar and community. The sessio - the provost seat - places itself descreetly into the presbytery sideways of the main altar. The ministrants seats encompass the altar room, the ambo is oriented to the community. The dialogue between both liturgic places is emphasized through coordination of the materials and form language of altar and ambo.
The altar incorporates the geometry of the presbytery and connects tabernakle with the main aisle of the church. The mensa together with the stipes is the table of the Lord and it is oriented towards the church community. The chosen materials and their processing provide the altar equally with dignity and elegance.
The form of the ambo reminds of an open book - the Book of Gospels where God's word is proclaimed from. The Book of Gospels integrates itself harmoniously in the form of the ambo. The ambo offers the possibility to present the Book of Gospels of the community after the proclamation.
The sessio is directed towards the church community and it is visible from all the community places. The asymetric position of the seat on the white construction gently highlights the provost's seat.
The design of candlestand and processional cross was part of the competition as well. A soft steel tube carries a plate where the candle is positioned. The modesty of the construction puts the candle and its glow in the foreground.
On a round portable rod a modest cross of flat steel is fixed with separators. The materiality and form of the cross is attuned with the altar.
