Housing Development Pradl Ost -Innsbruck
Along the Türingstraße the line-like building bodies of the Bar incorporate the urban structure of the historical south-tirolean settlement and extend it by a compact, villa-like building type. A park-like landscape arises that generously encompasses the free located building bodies. The continuous configuration of the public park landscape is extra intensified through the lifting of the buildings from the surrounding terrain. The elevated ground level increases the use quality of the private free spaces (improved visual shield) and additionaly enables the natural illumination of the community facilities and adjoining rooms in the intermediate storey beneath.
The southern end of the bar together with the new Widum create a clearly defined forecourt of the parish church Zu den heiligen Schutzengeln. The building height increases in the north and thus achieves the required urban densification in a subtle way.
The three building bodies are connected to each other in the upper floors through a coherent arcade. A differentiated net of development arises accumulating community and adjoining spaces (laundry facility, children's playground, storage possibility for baby pushchairs and bikes) at each floor. In this way the arcade is spatial arranged and creates optimal prerequisites for communication and participation.
The compact construction of the square Stadtvillas provides ideal ecological and economical prerequisites. An optimal ratio between fassade surface and building volume occurs due to the glas covered atrium. As a consequence a highly efficient energy balance can be achieved.
